HOME TOWN DATES!!
Lindzi is the first home town date for Ben. She greets him on
a horse, again…They have a horse carriage ride, and an intimate picnic. Lindzi
opens up about feeling vulnerable, Ben’s glad he found out all of this before
he meets her family. Lindzi’s parents seem very welcoming. Ben and Lindzi tell
them about everywhere they have been, and they learn that Lindzi’s parents were
married in the San Francisco City Hall (the location of Lindzi and Ben’s first
date, is this a sign? Crazy!) Lindz tells her mom that she sees a forever
future with Ben. Mom tells Ben that Lindzi doesn’t have a lot of experience, in
dating of course…and Ben has the awkward conversation with Lindzi’s dad, Ben lets
him know that although he isn’t ready to propose yet, he would want permission
if he would, and Lindzi’s dad gives his approval. (and Ben shows interest in
having a dad again). I think Ben really needed this date with Lindzi, I still
think he was having doubts about how much he liked her, and now of course this
just makes things even more complicated.
Kacie B in all of her twirly brilliance…twirls behind a
marching band to welcome Ben. She’s adorkable. They hang out at the football
stadium named after her grandfather. Ben admires that Kacie really knows
herself and what she wants, he finds it endearing…I think he really likes who
he would be or who he would become if he chose her. Ben gets nervous to hear
about Kacie’s dad not being a drinker, and that of course being Ben’s
profession…it might be an awkward family get-together. Cue the dramatic music…Kacie
expresses to her sister her frustrations with her father, about not understanding
the idea of taking risks. Kacie knows that her dad is really skeptical, you can
see it all over her awkward face at dinner. She would be very upset if whatever
happens between her parents and Ben would ruin her chances, I would be upset
too! Kacie does stick up to her dad about seeing a real future with Ben, and
that she would want to move to California. I feel really bad for Kacie, I do
agree with some of the things that her parents are concerned about, but they
aren’t making it easy on her, or trusting her judgment.
Kacie’s dad is SCARY, I would be shaking in my boots trying to
talk to him. And Ben kind of is…is stumbling over his words, and seemingly out
of breath during the whole conversation. BEN DON’T TELL HER DAD THAT YOU HAVE
FEELINGS FOR THE OTHER WOMEN! It worries me how many times her mom tells Ben
about them doing everything together. She tells Ben that she doesn’t agree with
Kacie moving in with Ben in California before they get married. Ben was really
put on the hot seat, I really hope this doesn’t scare him away!
Nicki is looking forward to seeing Ben become a country boy.
They go into a boot shop and try on cowboy boots, and hats, and she makes an
outfit change into a sparkly crop top. They grab a drink at a local saloon, and
then head to the park for another picnic (girls, let’s try to be a little more
original!) We find out the her parents have been divorced for most of her life,
hmm interesting…her mom seems very happy for her, and doesn’t really questions
Nicki’s feelings…Her dad seems skeptical and hesitant, and concerned and
apologetic about giving her away (to her ex) so freely, so he of course will
have his guard up with Ben. I’m really starting to like this Nicki girl, she is
absolutely glowing..i do really want to believe that she is as in love with him
as she thinks. And then she pulls him aside and she tells him that she LOVES
him! He seems smitten (but maybe he’s still excited about his new boots)…he
also says in his voice over that there were moments throughout the day that he
really loves her, and that he has great gut feelings with her.
Up next….crazy family!
“She’s 100% crazy, if you had a nut allergy you wouldn’t be
allowed near her” Holly’s musings on Courtney and her bat-crazy ways.
The date starts with Ben meeting Courtney’s family right away.
(Although I see those fake rings, bad editing job abc!) Marriage is life’s
greatest gamble, says Courtney’s dad. Ben tells him that he isn’t ready for
marriage, but is ready for a serious committed relationship. Her family seems
so distant, and not really caring about her, it just seems odd…I guess we are
seeing why she is the way she is. They all say they like Ben, but we don’t
really see any interactions. It just seems so staged. On the second part of the
date, Courtney takes him to a park for another picnic (whaddya know?) Then they
look over and see a wedding area set up, and he decides to walk over…and then
she starts going through her bag, pulling out note pads to right vows, a
bowtie, and some rings. (AND IM SCREAMING TO MYSELF WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!!)
they are actually writing out their vows…and then they walk down the aisle to a
pastor. (WHAT IS GOING ON!) I hate to wonder if he would go through all these
motions with another girl, if they had planned this out. And then Courtney
starts to say her vows, and they sound a whole heck of a lot like Carrie’s in
the last episode of Sex and the City television show, and lyrics from Bob
Marley song! She is just, the worst. THE WORST! And he is eating up, they
deserve each other. And then they drive away in a car that says “ALMOST MARRIED”
this girl is so crazy, guys…if a girl ever does this to you it means she is off
her rocker!
And we are back in LA..Ben chats to Chris about the hometown
dates. This is what I gather from his conversation..
Lindzi= I could love this woman
Kacie B= Compromise
Nicki= It felt right
Courtney= I could’ve written more (vows)
And the rose goes to…Courtney (in which she says I DO),
Lindzi, Nicki
And the most awkward limo ride ever goes to…poor Kacie B…I think
your family did scare him away. But
not just with their disapproval. I think Ben realized the struggle that he
would be faced, and that you might not be ready to move to California, and
leave your family. Annnnndddd he was probably scared shitless of your dad.
TEAM NICKI! (even though I KNOW
it’s going to be Courtney)
Next week...Off to Switzerland!
